We pick up at every Amsterdam cruise terminal, and beyond
Sea ship or river ship, central quay or industrial port, your day starts at the gangway and ends there too. Every tour is private to your group, from the cruise port and back.
Passenger Terminal Amsterdam (PTA)
Passenger Terminal Amsterdam sits right behind Centraal Station, a 10 to 15 minute walk from the old center. It's the one Amsterdam cruise terminal within walking distance, so your guide simply meets you at the gangway.
IJmuiden, Felison Terminal
Roughly 30 km west of Amsterdam, not walkable to anything. We send a coach to the terminal, and the ride from IJmuiden to Amsterdam takes about 40 minutes. You step off the ship, you're tasting cheese.
Zaandam and the river quays
River ships dock at the quays behind Centraal and, from 2026, more and more in Zaandam, including AmaWaterways departures. We pick up dockside at both.

In April 2026 Aegis Financial, a 95-guest group from the US, landed at Schiphol in the morning and had to be on their river ship in Zaandam by mid-afternoon. We met them with two coaches, kept the luggage on board, ran three food and history tours side by side, handed 30 guests Anne Frank House tickets, and delivered everyone dockside with time to spare.

What does a shore day with us look like?

Your guide or driver meets you at the gangway with a sign. No hunting for a meeting point in a strange port.

Into the city, on foot from PTA or by coach from IJmuiden or Zaandam, with the first stories on the way.

The food tour: cheese in a canal-house cellar, herring at the fishmonger, warm stroopwafels, a jenever toast, canal bridges in between.

Will we be back on board before the ship leaves? +
Yes. We plan your whole day backwards from your all-aboard time, with a built-in buffer. Your guide keeps one eye on the clock from the first tasting to the last, and the coach or walk back is part of the plan, not an afterthought.
Can you pick us up at IJmuiden, Zaandam or the river quays? +
We pick up at any cruise ship in the Netherlands: Passenger Terminal Amsterdam, IJmuiden Felison Terminal, Zaandam, the river quays behind Centraal Station, and Rotterdam on request. Your guide or driver waits at the gangway with a sign.
Is the Amsterdam cruise terminal within walking distance of the center? +
Passenger Terminal Amsterdam is, it's a 10 to 15 minute walk from the old center. IJmuiden is not, it's about 30 km from the city, which is why our IJmuiden pickups come with a coach.
Can we bring our luggage on a turnaround day? +
Yes. On embarkation or disembarkation days your bags travel with us: they stay locked on the coach while you eat your way through the city, and the coach delivers you and the luggage to the ship or airport afterwards.
How big can our group be? +
From 2 guests to a full charter. Our coaches seat up to 50 each and we run several in parallel for bigger groups. In the city we split large groups into pods of 10 to 12, each with its own local guide, so it never feels like a herd.
What does a shore excursion like this cost? +
It depends on your group size, the tour you pick and the transport you need, so we don't do one-size-fits-all rates. Tell us your ship, date and group size and you'll have a clear per-group quote within 24 hours.
Can you get Anne Frank House tickets on a port day? +
Often, yes, but they sell out weeks ahead. We've secured 30 tickets for a single cruise group before. The earlier you ask, the better our chances.
What about dietary requirements? +
Tell us when you book. Vegetarian, pescatarian, gluten-free and most allergies are no problem on a private tour, we plan the stops around your group.
