Brews & Bites: your private canal cruise

Ten years of food tours taught us something about canal cruises: the boats are beautiful, the food and drink are usually an afterthought. Plastic cups, warm beer, a recording doing the talking.

So we did it our way.

Your host steps aboard with you, the captain takes the wheel, and the first glass is poured before the first bridge. Then Amsterdam does what it does best. Golden Age mansions built on herring money. The narrowest house in the city. Houseboats with better addresses than most hotels.

Snacks, drinks and the city going by

A generous spread of Dutch snacks and cold drinks keeps coming as you cruise, served the way it should be. The route bends to your group. Golden Age houses, houseboat life, the harbor if you like it moody. Stories included, silences respected. Back at the dock 90 minutes later with our shortlist of where to eat tonight.

Sun or rain, your boat adapts

On warm, sunny days we take the open boat and let the light in. When the weather turns, the covered boat keeps you dry and cozy with a roof over your head. Either way it is your group only, on the quieter canals, at your pace.

Perfect for

Anniversaries and birthdays, cake is welcome, just ask. Client entertainment that beats another restaurant table. Families, the easiest boat format there is. Or the finale of a private food tour, see the food tour and canal cruise combo.

One boat seats up to 11 guests. Bigger group? We run a larger boat that takes up to 50, or several boats together, so the numbers are rarely a problem. Just ask. More on how a private boat day works.

Good to know

Questions, answered

What if it rains? +

We switch to the covered boat with a roof, so you stay dry and cozy. If the weather is truly miserable we reschedule with you directly, or move the party indoors with a wine and cheese tasting. Your booking does not vanish into a refund queue.

Open boat or covered boat? +

On warm, sunny days we take the open boat and let the sunshine in. When the weather turns we use the covered boat with a roof. Either way it is your group only.

Is there a toilet on board? +

Yes.

Can we bring kids? +

Very welcome. A private boat is the easiest format for families, with soft drinks for the small ones.

Are you celebrating something? +

Tell us when you book. Birthdays, anniversaries and proposals happen on this boat regularly, and a cake or your own bottle for a toast is usually fine.

Can you handle dietary requirements? +

Let us know when you book and we will do our best. Vegetarian, pescatarian and gluten-free can be arranged with advance notice.

What if we are a bigger group? +

No problem. One boat seats up to 11. For bigger groups we run a larger boat that takes up to 50, or several boats side by side, plus food tour and boat programs for corporate groups. Tell us your numbers and we will quote it.
