Yes, families with young children are welcome on the 10 Tastes of Amsterdam, and the young ones get the alcohol-free version of both included drinks. There is no separate child price: babies and toddlers under three come along for free on a lap, and from four a child books a normal seat at €79. The group is never more than 12 guests, the walk is about 2.5 km with plenty of stops, and it adds up to a full meal.

Which tour works with kids
The public 10 Tastes of Amsterdam works for kids as it is: 3 hours, 10+ tastings across 5 stops, a group that is never more than 12 guests, and a guide who knows your name by the second stop. You usually sit down at the first and the last stop, and often somewhere in the middle as well.
A private food tour is our most-booked option for families. The guide adjusts stories, stops and snacks to your crew, the start time is yours, and if you want to be seated at every stop we build the route around that. One parent's verdict, in their own words: 'my 11 year old gave it 10 out of 10'.
What kids pay
There is no child price on the public tour, and none is needed for the smallest ones: babies and toddlers under three come along for free, sit on a lap, and do not take one of the 12 places. From four, a child books a normal seat and counts towards the maximum of 12, because a child eats close to what a grown-up eats. On a private tour it is one price per group, €230 a person for a couple and €550 for four, VAT included.
What kids eat and drink
Warm stroopwafels made in front of them at a 200-year-old bakery, poffertjes in butter, Dutch pralines and apple pie in a brown bar are the stops kids remember. Cured herring is the one most of them skip, and a kid who will not touch it gets something they will. The young ones get the alcohol-free version of both included drinks: coffee, tea or a soft drink, and the bottle of water is included either way. Guests under 18 get the alcohol-free option by default, as 18 is the legal drinking age in the Netherlands.
Strollers, cobblestones and toilets
Foldable strollers and baby buggies are welcome, and a buggy occasionally waits just outside a small venue while the group steps in. The route is about 2.5 km / 1.5 miles on canal-side cobblestones at a relaxed pace with plenty of stops and breaks, so leave the SUV-sized stroller at the hotel. There is a toilet at the first stop and one at the last, and in between your guide knows the cafés along the route where you can step in for a minute.
Travelling as a family? Tell us first
Message us before you book and tell us who is coming, ages included, and what the kids will and will not eat. We reply the same day, and we would rather hear about a family of five in advance than meet them at the cellar door. A picky eater is fine: each tasting is a few bites, not a plate you are committed to, and you skip what you do not fancy.
